My Home and Approach

My Home

This is very much a home-from-home setting where dogs can relax, follow familiar routines, and feel part of the household while their family are away.

I live in a three bedroom semi in Baildon and have plenty of space for all of my furry guests to have time for social and any needed alone time.

You are welcome to provide their most loved place to sleep or i have plenty of extra beds as an alternative. I can provide a seperate room for sleeping or co-sleeping space depending on your dogs preference and home routine. I would very much prefer to follow your home routine where ever possible.

Play, exercise and outdoor time

Dogs at Trusted Paws enjoy a calm, consistent daily routine that includes both supervised outdoor play and regular walks.

I have a secure, enclosed back garden with plenty of space for gentle play and fresh air. The garden is professionally secured and includes a padlocked side gate for added peace of mind. Dogs have regular supervised access throughout the day, with outdoor time guided by their comfort, needs and energy levels.

Daily exercise is an important part of every stay. Dogs in my care enjoy three walks a day — morning, afternoon and evening — with the afternoon walk usually being the longest and most enriching. Walks are always tailored to each dog’s age, routine and wellbeing, and we explore local routes and green spaces across Yorkshire to provide safe stimulation and variety.

For safety, dogs are kept on lead at all times, unless recall has been clearly assessed and I am fully confident they can be safely off-lead in a controlled environment. My priority is always to ensure dogs are secure, settled and cared for properly, both at home and out on walks.

Calm, individual care and reassurance

Every dog is treated as an individual at Trusted Paws. I take time to understand each dog’s normal routine, personality and preferences so they feel safe, settled and cared for throughout their stay.

Because places are limited, I’m able to offer consistent attention, gentle supervision and plenty of quiet downtime alongside play and exercise. Dogs are never rushed or overstimulated, and I always aim to create a calm, reassuring environment where they can relax and feel at home.

Owners are very welcome to share any routines, feeding preferences or comforts that help their dog settle, and I’m happy to provide regular updates during the stay so you can feel confident and reassured while you’re away.

After many years working in the corporate world, I made a conscious decision to step away and build a business rooted in what I genuinely love, caring for animals and offering calm, dependable support to others.

I live in a perfect part of the country for this, too. Baildon has so many amazing spots to explore and I have loved taking the four legged friends in my care on lots of walks and adventures.

Alongside caring for pets in my home, I volunteer part-time as a Samaritans Listening Volunteer, supporting people through difficult moments with empathy, patience and non-judgmental care. That same calm, attentive approach sits at the heart of how I care for pets too, noticing their needs, respecting their routines, and creating an environment where they feel safe and settled.

I’m incredibly proud of the time I spent volunteering with a pet fostering organisation in Houston, Texas, where we took in adoptable dogs from shelters and provided short-term care until they could be matched with the right families. It was deeply rewarding work. Seeing dogs thrive once they were given safety, consistency and kindness, and watching families welcome them into their lives is something I’ll always cherish.

Caring is not something I do on the side; it’s who I am. I feel genuinely honoured to have created a small, home-based business that allows me care for animals.
